Record flooding caused historical damage to the CIty and it needed to figure out a way to save residents and downtown businesses.
The project team designed many unique aspects that helped save the City during high water events, including: an invisible flood wall that could be be easily assembled, a hidden storm sewer gate closure structure, low visual impact stormwater pump stations, and a modular garden wall floodgate. A road was also raised several feet and a bridge was designed to be a gathering place for community.
