Challenge

The City of Rochester, Minnesota, wanted to develop several adjacent parcels of city-owned property in the downtown area. They had a vision for a mixed-use development that not only fit with the context of the surrounding area, but also stimulated further development.

Solution

Several adjacent parcels of land were purchased a new, pedestrian-friendly area was developed with retail space, housing, parking structures, an outdoor patio, a sculpture, rain gardens, porous pavers, and more.
